The products are made from natural ingredients, because everything you need to restore balance for healthy teeth and gums already exists in nature.
Dr Hisham’s formulas harness the healing properties of New Zealand, Australian and European plant sourced ingredients, organic oils and vital bio-minerals that are completely natural in effect, while eliminating all unnecessary harmful toxins.

The history of Dr Hisham’s Holistic Oral Care System
As a practising holistic dentist, Dr Hisham realised that most conventional and natural toothpastes on the market contained fluoride, abrasives, parabens petrochemicals and other toxic ingredients.
Over 20 years ago, Dr Hisham started researching and asking questions that were never discussed at the time. These questions were based on his core philosophy: “Let’s seek health rather than fight disease”. Dr Hisham knew there had to be a better alternative to preserve oral health and overall well-being.
In 2001, Dr Hisham’s daughter was born with severe allergies. Dr Hisham started actively researching and creating his own handmade formulations to protect teeth and gums, looking at the whole person including the oral and gut microbiome.
The Dr Hisham’s range began with “Vital Serum”, the first ever non-toothpaste with organic oils and cocoa butter and other natural ingredients. The Dr Hisham’s range now includes a suite of ground-breaking oral health care products such as the Alkaline Mouth Rinse, Natural Bamboo Toothbrush, Tooth Whitening Powder and Dr Hisham’s Vital Mints - 100% natural breath mints that prebiotically protect the teeth and gums.
Quality and ultra-pure ingredients
The natural ingredients used in Dr Hisham’s products are carefully analysed and vetted with the manufacturer or supplier to make sure that they are naturally sourced and eco-friendly in their manufacturing and overall environment impact.
For example, the water used in the Dr Hisham’s range is clean, non-fluoridated water from the deep aquifers near Katikati in New Zealand. The birch xylitol, a naturally sweet extract of the bark of birchwood trees is sustainably-sourced from Finland, and has been shown in research to be a much healthier alternative to sugar and other sweeteners.
Dr Hisham is passionate about producing high-quality oral care products from high-quality ingredients. Each formula is thoroughly researched and tested to ensure that the ingredients work in synergy together and most importantly, with the body.
How are the products made?
All products are handmade with love in Katikati in New Zealand. What makes Dr Hisham’s formulas unique, is that they don’t rely on just one special ingredient, but a synergistic concentrated combination of active, evidence proven ingredients that are natural in source and natural in effect.
The intention of using 100% natural food-grade ingredients (including coconut oil, birchwood xylitol and manuka oil), means that the Dr Hisham’s range is totally safe for us to brush and clean our teeth, and even safe enough to ingest. Virtually no other oral care products were designed this way.
Dr Hisham’s packaging is recyclable, BPA free and refillable. The team are continuously looking to improve all of their products and packaging. The Dr Hisham toothbrush is made from used carbonised bio-bamboo, not fumigated bamboo. This makes it more efficient, safer, more ergonomic, universally biofunctional and environmentally friendly. They are also looking to increase the lifecycle of the recyclable pumps, bottles and pots. This is totally new to the dental care industry which is known for non-reusable and non-recyclable packaging.
